衰位，并并不是指某一个方位，仅仅对运势没落的方位的一个叫法。在玄空风水中对于衰位的描述，在玄空风水中衰位指的是失运的飞星飞伏的方向，在这其中二黑五黄最凶。确立了衰位实际的部位后，衰位的凶性是可以解决的。
风水中的失运衰位
在玄空风水中，衰位指的是三元九运中的失运衰位，目前源自八运当中，因而 从二黑星到七赤星都是衰位，尤其是二黑五黄位。,三元九运中，每六十年称作“元”，上元节执掌六十年，中元执掌六十年，下元执掌六十年，三元一共180年。

一白星执掌的二十年称作[一运];
二黑星执掌的二十年称作[二运];
三碧星执掌的二十年称作[三运];
四绿星执掌的二十年称作[四运];

七赤星执掌的二十年称作[七运];
八白星执掌的二十年称作[八运];
九紫星执掌的二十年称作[九运]。
现如今正处于八运中，由04年一开始，地球上进到二十年的八运之中。八运已过得话，由2024年开始，地球上进到九运。当七运退去，由八运接好的状况下，七运星与及之前的六个二十八宿都称作[退运星]，亦称作[失令星]。
这代表着由二黑星到七赤星都是吉中带凶，或者极凶神星，凶神飞伏的地域，就是失运的衰位。务必依据风水摆放，将凶神化走。而八白星为脉运行星，为最吉，一白星和九紫星属于未来星，也都是福星。
